My name is James Sambian, and I'm AIMing to keep Africa Alive! by training to run/walk the half marathon (21K) event of the Accra International Marathon (AIM). Over the years, I've enjoyed working with Ghanaians with various physical disabilities in my capacities as Executive Director of the Ghana Society for the Blind (now Ghana Blind Union) and subsequently of the Ghana National Association of the Deaf.
Against tremendous odds, many of these people, whom society describes as disabled, show us what the human spirit is capable of when dreams are linked to hard work and perseverance. My dream is of a world in which all God's children have a chance to lead meaningful and productive lives in dignity.
My AIM is to raise funds to support the Community Health Education & Outreach Program of The Longevity Project. Please help me reduce the barriers to health and fitness for the disadvantaged of our communities by contributing any amount you can. All donations will be acknowledged with an official receipt.
